UNILAG Attempted Name Change To MAULAG
On 29 May 2012 the President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, proposed to rename the University of Lagos to the name Moshood Abiola University, Lagos (MAULAG) in honor of Moshood Abiola, who died in jail as a political prisoner in 1998. The name change has been the subject of protests from students and alumni (source: Wikipedia)
