UNIUYO Matriculates Over 7000 For 2014/2015 Session
UNIUYO matriculation ceremony for 2014/2015 has come and come with about 7,691 students officially admitted into the university.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Professor Comfort Ekpo, while speaking at the event warned the newly admitted students to shun vices, such as cultism and prostitution, that could frustrate their academic development.
She also advised them to key into the Tertiary Institution Social Insurance Programme which the university has implemented in order to obtain free medical services
Ekpo added, “It is important that you register with the University Medical Centre so that you can benefit from the scheme.”
She urged them to endeavour to abide by the institution’s rules and regulations.
The VC, who said academic work required peace and order, advised them to stay away from anything that could result in them to crisis.
