The date scheduled for the exercise was Monday 25th, July, 2016. The Nigeria Universities Commission(NUC) began the accreditation exercise successfully, ensuring standards were met, inspections of materials and numerous equipment were not left out. According to Prof. Oyedipe, the accreditation will permit all graduating students of the ten academic programmes in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine to practise as professional veterinarians, which would fully certify them.
The Director said, “The Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation permits academic institutions to start their programmes after meeting basic standards. They then visit regularly to monitor quality and adherence. Usually in our case, that involves pre-clinical and para-clinical facilities and training curriculum and we have passed all that”.
