UI Distance Learning Matriculates Over 6000 Students
The University of Ibadan yesterday matriculated 6,443 out of 7,716 applicants it admitted in the 2013/2014 session into it Distance Learning Programmes.
While speaking at the matriculation event, the immediate past director of the centre, Prof. Francis Egbokhare said some people had misconstrued the programme noting that distance learning is the acquisition of knowledge and skills through mediated information and instruction encompassing all technologies.
According to the Vice chancellor of the university, Professor Isaac Adewole, the computer based testing process for the selection of candidates that was introduced a few sessions ago had improved the performance and versatility of DLC students in the use of technology for learning and communication.
