Two OOU Students Reportedly Lost Their Lifes During Protest
Two stusents of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, today, reportedly lost their lifes during a violent protest staged by the students the school over the regularization policy introduced by the management of the University.
The students occupied the environs of the school in the early hours of today to protest this regularisation policy. A soure at the scene of the protest informed NGScholars that the police opened fire on the students on geting to the scene, killing two students and wounding several others.
However, the police have denied that they shot any students dead. Mr Muyiwa Adejobi, the spokesman of the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Police Force. Adejobi revealed in an interview that:
They went violent this morning and some of our men were deployed to disperse them. The operation was led by a Deputy Commissioner and no live bullet was used so the issue of killing does not arise at all.
