About the Polytechnic

The Imo State government founded it as the College of Technology, Owerri on a temporary site in the grounds of Government Technical College before moving it to its current location in Nekede. The polytechnic was renamed “The Federal Polytechnic, Nekede” on April 7, 1993, and became a federal government school.
