GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT STUDY IN INDIA SCHOLAROSHIP
Oredean Education Resources Limited is a registered company in Nigeria with Corporate Affair Commission, Abuja. The mandate of the Company include but not limited to operation and management of education institution at all levels, representation of foreign institution in Nigeria, processing of international admission for students and award of scholarships for Nigerian students on behalf of various institutions. For the past three years, the company has been into promotion of Indian Education in Nigeria as the only recognized representative of various Indian institutions in Nigeria. In the past three years, the company has recruited over two hundred Nigerian students into various institutions in India both on scholarship and self – financing bases.

STUDY IN INDIA SCHOLARSHIP
Oredian Education Resources Limited (OERL) in conjunction with institutions provides scholarships to talented students in Nigeria to study in India in specialized fields that will build the country’s technological development and expansion of ICT knowledge.

In year 2010, 309 was made available and OERL in conjunction with India Education Promotion Council (IEPC) – implemented scholarship programme that was awarded to some Nigerian students who are currently studying various courses in Indian Institutions – St Francis -De Sales, University of Bangalore, India.

The scholarship programme is an innovative scholarship programme that will provide Nigerian students with access to leading institutions of higher education in India.

The scholarship is in line with the company’s strategic plan of promoting education in Nigeria and provision of International experience and exposure for qualified Nigerian students. The following Institutions have made provision for Scholarships for Nigeria students’ base on merit and on application:
1. SRM University- $200,000 worth scholarship.
2. Saint Francis De-Sales- $45,000 worth Scholarship
3. Desh Bhagat Institute- $50,000 worth Scholarship
4. Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bangalore- $40,000 worth Scholarship.

TYPES & NATURE OF THE SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarships to be awarded only cover tuition fees and are of three categories as follows:
1. Full scholarship: this covers the tuition fees of the 3 or 4 years programme
2. Two/Three years scholarship : this covers the tuition for two or three years of the course of study as the case may be.
3. One year scholarship: this covers only one year tuition fee of a three year academic programme.
4. Special Scholarship : this is a comprehensive scholarship that covers tuitions, flight and cost of living in India for 10 exceptionally brilliant Nigerian students.

METHOLOGY
The award of the scholarship is purely on merit base on the grades obtained b the student in his/her ordinary level result of WAEC, NECO orNABTEB and scores in the scholarship test administer by the administrator of the scholarship in Nigeria-Oredian Education Resources Limited. Suitably qualified students from the above process are short-listed and sent to various awarding institution in India for approval.

CONDUCT OF SCHOLARSHIP EXAMINATION TEST:
NABTEB Integrated Service Limited an arm of National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), Benin City has been commissioned to conduct the Scholarship Test to the prospective students at the closing of the sales of scholarship form.

CONDUCT OF SCHOLARSHIP TEST
The mode and method of the test are to be determined by NABTEB Integrated Services Limited including Item generations. Tests are to be classified into three categories as follows:
i. Science Subjects (For Engineering, Natural/Applied Sciences andMedical Sciences Applicant):

OBJECTIVES AND GOALS
1. To encourage students to pursue higher education in quality Indian Institutions for an International experience and exposure.
2. To further foster education relationship between Nigeria and India
3. To educate Nigeria students and parents about the quality of India education and the opportunities available in India.

ELIGIBILITY
Applicant must posses’ 5 credit passes in relevant subject in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or its equivalent for undergraduate degree course. Applicant for master degree courses must hold at least Bachelor degreeat 2.2 levels. Applicant should not be more than 24 years of age for undergraduate degree courses and no age limit for the master degree applicants.

TIME – LINES
The understated are the propose time line for the sales of Form and conducts of the scholarship test each year.
1. Sales of Form – date will be announced on the website
2. Examination Date – follows immediately after closing of form sale
3. Release of Results to Oredian – within one month from day of examination

SCHOLARSHIP ADMISSION PROCESSING
Admission will be processed for qualified students in any of the awarding institutions. The scholarship will be awarded to students on the basis of their academic excellence as shown by the certificate presented and performances in the qualifying scholarship test.

SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION TEST
All applicants must write and pass the Scholarship entry test to be qualified for the scholarship. The duration of the exam is one hour.

EXAMINATION CENTERS
Examination Centers: The entry examination shall be held in Lagos, Abuja, Benin City, Akure, Port-Harcourt and Enugu.
