Ogun Students Plan Protest Over Unpaid Bursary, Scholarship
Ogun State students under the aegis of National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOOSS) have given the state government a 14-day ultimatum to pay bursary and scholarship to its members or risk a protest in the state. This ultimatum was issued on 29th December, 2014 as they claim the Government owed its members grants for the 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 academic sessions.
Ogun Students (NAOSS) to Protest Over Bursary, Scholarships
The President of the association, Mr. Balogun Abdulgaffar, stated this to newsmen in Abeokuta, the state capital.
He said, “Our demands include an immediate disbursement of bursary and scholarship awards to our members; and the implementation of reduced tuition regime in the state-owned tertiary institutions, among others.”
He also regretted that the authorities of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, had yet to implement the new tuition as directed by the state government.
