NLC Condems FG’s Actions Towards ASUP Strike
The nigerian labour congress (NLC) has urged the federal government of nigeria to into the on-going ASUP strike and meet the demands of the Union.
For months now Members of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic have been on strike and their counterparts who are members of the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) have been on strike since December 2013.
The President Of NLC, Abdulwaheed Omar, said – “The recent breakdown of talks between the Minister of Education and the leadership of ASUP over the full implementation of the 2009 Agreement it signed with the Federal Government, is at best irresponsible on the part of the Minister who took a hardline positions and refused to move any inch in the negotiations to allow for mutual consensus”.
