National Open University Student Enrollment Hits 180,000
The Vice-Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria, Prof. Vincent Ado Tenebe, has said that the total population of students in the institution has risen to over 180,000 from 32,000 when the programme kicked off in 2002.
According to him, the quality of graduates produced from the system were better than those from conventional universities in Nigeria.
He spoke with Journalists on Friday evening in Abuja ahead of the 7th Pan Commonwealth Forum on Open and Distance Learning to be declared open by President Goodluck Jonathan.
The conference has been scheduled to take place in Abuja between (Monday) December 2 and 6 2013 where experts from over 60 countries in the world would converge to brainstorm on the use of ODL and scientific technology to improve access to higher education.
