PROFILE OF THE VICE CHANCELLOR

–Professor Muhammad Akaro Mainoma

•Attended: Dunama Primary School
Government Secodary School, Miango

•Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria
University of Pittsburgh, USA.
He holds B.Sc Accounting, M.Sc Accounting and Finance and Ph.D Finance

•He started his working career with one year compulsory service with Niger State Supply Company Ltd as Assistant Accountant in 1990.

•He joined NCR (NIG) PLC as Planning Executive in 1991 and joined Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria as Graduate Assistant in 1992.

•Professor Mainoma is a member of The Academy of Management Nigeria (TAMN), Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Nigerian Economic Society (NES).

He is also a fellow of the following societies:

•Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN)

•Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN)

•Institute of Financial and Investment Analyst of Nigeria (IFIAN)

•Institute of Development Administration (IDA)

•Institutes of Islamic Finance of Nigeria (IIFN)

•Nigerian Accounting Association (NAA)

Professor Mainoma, was Class Captain, Head boy, Head of Department, Deputy Dean, Dean, Chairman Committee of Deans and Directors, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at various times and at different Universities.

Professor Mainoma was the President, Nigerian Accounting Association from 2002 to 2012. he was also President, Institute of Financial and Investment Analysts (IFIAN). He was Council Member, Nigerian Accounting Standard Board (NASB) now Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN). He was also a member, Nasarawa State Governing Council representing Senate. Professor Mainoma is currently a member of Governing Council of Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN). ICT University Balori Rouge USA and International Association of Accounting Educators and Researchers.

Professor Mainoma is presently the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Nasarawa State University, Keffi. Professor Mainoma to his credit certain Innovations during his academic sojourn.

Establishment of Masters in Banking and Finance and Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Finance in Ahmadu Bello University. Ph.D in Accounting and Finance in University of Abuja and M.Sc Accounting and Finance, Ph.D Accounting and Finance and Masters in Public Sector Accounting, in Nasarawa State University, Keffi. M.Sc Accounting and Finance and Ph.D in Nigeiran Defence Academy.

Professor Mainoma loves creativity and is happily married with children. He is Gardin Lafia and Gardin Keffi..
