Are Matriculated Students Eligible To Write JAMB UTME? Answer!
Matriculated Students of Nigeria’s tertiary institutions ARE NOT eligible to write JAMB UTME. This is a fact that has been known for years. If you are already a matriculated student of a University, Polytechnic or another tertiary intuition, you are no longer qualified to sir for JAMB UTME.
Lately, we have been receiving messages from candidates who are asking us if they could write the coming UTME, even though they are already students of some Universities in Nigeria. No, you cannot. The lasses message from JAMB to candidates also confirms that – in case you have any doubts.
Can Matriculated Students Write JAMB UTME?
Here is an example of a message we have received on this topic:
Please can a matriculated student apply for jamb 2017? Please I need your response quickly. I’m so down due to some information I’m hearing around. I’m a 100l student, want to rewrite jamb. please
No is the answer. Fabian Benjamin, Head of Public Relations JAMB, made this known on Monday in a telephone interview with the Punch.
He said, “Students with matriculation numbers of universities are not eligible to sit for the UTME. If they are not satisfied with their chosen disciplines, they can ask for transfer.’’
We hope this answer your questions now. If you have any other questions, please drop a comment.
When has any university in Nigeria accepted transfer of credit from one course to another; change of course is like a cow passing through the eye of the needle.
I have noted over the years that JAMB is a confusionist, I am wondering when it would master its job.
I just had my ND. Want to know if I am eligible to register for jamb again. Since its polytechnic, I don’t know if it applies, the quote says universities. Please do reply. Thanks
This is talking about those that are currently admitted into programmes in schools. Those that are still students of a particular school. You can also find out more about this by contacting JAMB.
