Kebbi State University Gets 3 Billion From TETFUND
Projects worth over eight hundred million naira (N800,000,000) are to be executed in Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero through TETFUND Special intervention. This was disclosed by the Pro-Chancellor of the University Justice Umar Atto Kalgo rtd who was represented by Engineer Murtala Zauro during the formal signing of contract agreement between the contractors and the University Management.
He said, the University received the sum of Three Billion Naira(N3,000,000,000) from TETFUND for capital intensive project, and this would go along way in making the University grow from Strength to Strength.
Engineer Murtala Zauro also congratulated the Contractors and expressed appreciation to the staff of the Physical Planning and Maintenance Division for their commitment in preparing the bill of quantity. He emphasized on good quality job and warned contractors to avoid shortcuts in order to maximize profits, adding that projects should be completed within the stipulated period of time.
Also speaking, Alh. Adamu Aliyu who is the chief Consult, the Managing Director of Habbis Consult Nigeria Ltd enjoined the contractors to work hand in hand with their architects and quantity surveyors so as to avoid unnecessary mistakes. He also reiterated the need for providing monthly progress report for easy assessments.
The Director Physical Planning and Maintenance of the University Engineer Bello Raha enjoined the contractors to cooperate with his staff for a harmonious working relationship during the execution of the projects. Some of the projects to be executed includes, construction of Civil Engineering Department, awarded to Seminal Nigeria Limited, Construction of Information and Communication Technology Department awarded to Metro Source Nigerian Limited, construction of 160 Capacity Drawing Studio awarded to Stargro Nigerian Limited, Construction of 200 capacity Lecture Hall awarded to Extreme Energy, Construction of 120 capacity Computer Lab awarded to U.Y.K limited and Yohaya Nigeria limited was awarded 100 capacity lecture Hall at the proposed Faculty of Engineering. Highlight of the occasion was the formal presentation of Building Drawings, Bills of Quantity and the formal handing over of projects site.
