The Kano State Government is now accepting applications for the second batch of the 1,001 Postgraduate Scholarship Programme for the 2024/2025 academic session.

About the Kano State Postgraduate Scholarship
This initiative, revived in 2023, aims to empower talented individuals by supporting postgraduate studies. In the first phase, 550 students were sponsored for Master’s programs in specialized fields at universities in India and Uganda. The second batch builds on this legacy, offering more opportunities to qualified candidates.
Eligibility Criteria for the Kano State Postgraduate Scholarship
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- State Origin: Be a recognized indigene of Kano State.
- Academic Excellence: Hold a First-Class Honours Degree or equivalent from a reputable institution.
- Age Requirements:
- 30 years or younger for four-to-five-year degree holders.
- 35 years or younger for degrees exceeding five years.
- Health Status: Provide a valid medical fitness certificate.
- NYSC Compliance: Have completed the NYSC program or possess a valid exemption/exclusion certificate.
- Other Conditions:
- Not currently benefiting from any other scholarship or sponsorship program.
- Submit a 500-word personal statement outlining your goals and why you deserve the scholarship.
- Agree to the terms and conditions of the scholarship if awarded.
Special Consideration: Candidates with disabilities and those pursuing fields addressing gaps in Kano State’s services will be prioritized, provided they meet the above criteria.
Application Process
Step 1: Online Submission
- Complete the application form on the official website of the Kano State Government.
- Print the completed form.
Step 2: Document Compilation
Attach the following documents to your printed application:
- Birth certificate
- Indigene certificate
- Primary school certificate
- WASC/GCE/SSCE/NABTEB/NBAIS certificate
- Degree certificate
- Academic transcript
- Medical fitness certificate
Step 3: Submission
Submit the hard copy of your application and supporting documents to:

Applications must be submitted within two weeks of this announcement.
