JAMB Will Not Extend 2021 Registration Closing Date
For the 2021 UTME, there will be no further extension of closing date for registration according to JAMB. All aspirants, who have not registered for the 2021 JAMB UTME may as well kiss goodbye to admission through UTME for the next session.
Recall that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board had previously extended the registration deadline. This was to allow candidates who could not meet the first deadline because of various reasons, especially NIN issues, to complete their registration.
The new closing date ended on Saturday May 29. As a result of this, many aspirants have been asking us, can I still register for JAMB UTME today?, Will JAMB extend registration closing date?, and so on. The answer to this question is NO. If JAMB changes their position we will give you an update.
Why JAMB JAMB Will Not Extend Registration Deadline for 2021?
According to JAMB, in spite of the two-week date extension, complaints of candidates’ inability to register persisted.
JAMB received such complaints as lateness or non-delivery of National Identity Number, NIN, verification code; inability to obtain NIN; mismatch or wrong names originally submitted to National Identity Management Commission, NIMC.
The board said while few of such excuses have been found to be genuine, a large number were traceable to fraudsters whom it alleged, were hell bent on subverting the system.
According to a report made by Vanguard, JAMB said, however, that it will give another opportunity to those who have genuinely tried to register but failed, due to some of the challenges mentioned.
“Due to time constraints within the window available to JAMB on the Annual National Examinations Timetable, further extension of the registration period is not feasible.
“Nevertheless, the board wants to avail every prospective candidate the opportunity to still participate in the 2021 registration exercise.
