2020 UTME: JAMB List of Prohibited Items in Exam Hall

JAMB has released the list of items prohibited in the 2020 UTME exam hall. In other words, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has a list of prohibited items in the JAMB UTME centers. They have been released.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) still maintains its directive that no candidate would be allowed to come into the exam hall with prohibited items.

The one everyone knows is electronic devices in the forthcoming JAMB mock examinations and 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

2020 JAMB List of Prohibited Items in UTME Exam Hall

JAMB’s Weekly Bulletin released in Abuja on Sunday, February 17, 2019, contains the list of prohibited Items that won’t be allowed into any of its centres during this year’s examination. The items are:

  1. Electronic devices such as:
    1. mobile phones
    2. calculators
    3. wristwatches
    4. recorders
  2. spy reading glasses
  3. cameras
  4. ear piece
  5. bluetooth devices
  6. USB
  7. CD
  8. hard disk and other similar storage devices
  9. pen/biro
  10. smart lenses
  11. books or any reading/writing material
  12. ink/pen readers
  13. key holders
  14. ATM cards
  15. erasers
  16. smart rings/jewelries

The bulletin partly states: “to ensure that the board’s examinations meet best global practice, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has prohibited the use of the following items during examinations.

“Candidates are hereby advised in their best interest not to bring these items close to the examination venue. Any breach of this directive would bar the candidates from taking the examination.”

JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin disclosed that some candidates who breached the directive and brought some of the devices to the hall last year were caught and handed over to security agencies.
