FUTA Academic Calendar for 2023/2024 Academic Session

Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA revised academic calendars for 1st and 2nd semester of the 2023/2024 academic session have been released.

The schedule contains the resumption dates for undergraduates students of FUTA for the beginning and completion of 2023/2024 academic session.

The released 2023/2024 FUTA academic calendar also contains other important dates such as commencement of registration, start and end of lectures for the session and date for start of examination.

FIRST SEMESTER, 2023/2024 ACADEMIC SESSION

• Jan 15, 2024: Registration Portal Opens/Online Registration starts for all Undergraduates.
• Jan 28, 2024: Arrival date for all Students (Both Fresh and Returning).
• Jan 29, 2024: Physical Registration and Lectures for Returning Students begin.
• Feb 5 & 6, 2024: Departmental Board of Examiners meets for 2nd Semester, 2022/2023 results.
• Feb 8 & 9, 2024: Schools Board of Examiners meets for 2nd Semester, 2022/2023 results.
• Feb 5-9, 2024: Orientation for Fresh Students.
• Feb 5-18, 2024: Late Registration period.
• Feb 12, 2024: Lectures begin for Fresh Students.
• Feb 28, 2024: 317th Senate session for 2nd Semester, 2022/2023 results.
• Mar 12, 2024: Matriculation Ceremony.
• Mar 14-16, 2024: Mid-Semester Break.
• Mar 18, 2024: Lectures resume.
• Mar 29 – Apr 1, 2024: Easter Break.
• Apr 10 & 11, 2024: Idel Fitr Holidays.
• May 1, 2024: Workers’ Day.
• Apr 26, 2024: Lectures end.
• Apr 29 – May 3, 2024: Lecture-Free Week.
• May 6-24, 2024: First Semester Examinations.
• May 27 – Jun 14, 2024: Inter-Semester Break.
• Summary: 13 Weeks of Lectures, 1 week Lecture-free, 3 weeks of Examinations. Total: 15 Weeks.

SECOND SEMESTER 2023/2024 ACADEMIC SESSION

• Jun 10, 2024: Registration Portal Opens.
• Jun 16, 2024: Arrival date for all Students.

• Jun 29, 2024: Normal Registration Closes.
• Jun 24, 2024: Lectures Commence.
• Jul 8 & 9, 2024: Departmental Board of Examiners meets for 1st Semester, 2023/2024 results.
• Jul 11 & 12, 2024: Schools Board of Examiners meets for 1st Semester, 2023/2024 results.
• Jul 1-12, 2024: Late Registration.
• Jul 31, 2024: 323rd Senate session for 1st Semester, 2023/2024 results.
• Aug 1-3, 2024: Mid-Semester Break.
• Aug 5, 2024: Lectures Resume.
• Sep 6, 2024: Lectures End.
• Sep 9-13, 2024: Lecture-Free Week.
• Sep 16, 2024: Id el Maulud Holiday.
• Sep 17 – Oct 7, 2024: Second Semester Examinations.
