FUNAI Plans Toward School Of Postgraduate Studies
Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), says as the institution prepares to graduate its first set of students in September this year, the introduction of postgraduate school would be its next assignment. The Vice Chancellor, Prof Chinedum.U Nwajiuba, disclosed this while addressing the Senate which he was presiding over for the first time since assuming office on February 26.
Nwajiuba, who used the occasion to set agenda for his administration also disclosed that in a short while, the Senate would be requested to endorse the commencement of five more faculties, namely: Agriculture, Education, Management, Environmental Science and Medicine.
He said: “In the days ahead, some of us in the university will have to work on specific milestones and measurable goals and targets, chart pathway to achieving our goals and targets, and implement them”.
The FUNAI helmsman added that his tenure would open up opportunities for new ideas, noting that such open door policy would uplift the university.
He paid glowing tribute to the founders and pioneer management of the university led by Vice Chancellor, Prof Oye Ibidiapo –Obe. He equally praised the deans, Heads of Department, as well as students.
Members of the Senate thanked Prof Nwajiubafor and promised their total support in his effort to move the university forward to attaining “world class status.”
