FUNAAB SIWES Allowances Payment Starts January 2014

Federal University of Agriculture a.k.a FUNAAB will start paying past SIWES allowances as from 2nd January, 2014. If information contained in a blog post on the FUNAAB official website is anything to go by, students who have passed through the SIWES programme will start getting their allowances on the said date.

It is important to note that SIWES allowances have not been paid to students who participated in the 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 schemes. The message did not say if all these past years will be settled.

Here is the full message as posted on the FUNAAB Online Blog:

In compliance with directives from the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment (FMTI) Budget Office, with effect from 2nd January, 2013, SIWES Allowances are now paid directly through electronic payment system to students who have been verified and found eligible.

Supervisory Allowances are also paid directly by ITF into the University’s SIWES Bank Account.

Let’s hope this is just not another lie.
