FUAM Churns Out 3 First Class As 2,291 Students Graduate
Federal University Of Agriculture, Makurdi produced 3 first class students as the school produced 2,291 graduates. This was made known during the 21st Convocation Ceremony of the university that took place on Saturday, 24th January 2015.
Speaking at the event, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Of Agriculture, Makurdi, Prof. Emmanuel Kucha, added that the university graduated a total of 471 postgraduate students with 20 of them bagging Doctorate degrees.
In his address, the Pro-Chancellor, Chief Chike Udenze, called on the staff and students to ensure that the prevailing peace and stability on campus was sustained in order to ensure the rapid growth of the University and the development of agriculture in the country.
He appealed to public spirited individuals as well as the Institution’s alumni, to assist the University, particularly, by providing infrastructure and facilities for the hosting of the 25th edition of the Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) by the University later in the year.
The highlight of the Convocation was the conferment of the University’s honorary degree on a former Chief of Defense Staff and current Chairman of the Subsidy Re-Investment Programme (SURE-P), retired General Martins Luther Agwai, for his contribution to peace and security in Nigeria and abroad.
