Federal University Otuoke, FUOTUOKE Tuitions Increased to N68,000, Students Protest
Information reaching NGScholars has it that that Students of Federal University Otuoke, (FUOTUOKE) has shown their grievances to the management of the school in a civilized manner. Students of the University on the 21st March, 2013 protested the recent hike in their tuition.
The pioneer students of the Federal University of Otuoke hosted a peaceful protest due to the increase in their school fees from N39,000 (Thirty Nine Thousand Naira) for both Arts and Sciences to N68,000.00 (Sixty Eight Thousand Naira) for Sciences students and N60,000.00 (Sixty Thousand Naira) for Arts Students.
The management of FUOTUOKE has since organized a meeting with students delegates. It was gathered after the meeting that the school fees were reduced to N58,000.00 for Sciences Students and N50,000.00 for Arts Students.
However, majority of the students want the school to reverse the decision and revert to the old tuition fees (the initial amount they pay), hence, the protest is likely to continue.
For Freshers who want to apply for the Institution, as at press time, the School fee for Federal University Otuoke, FUOTUOKE is N58,000 for Science and N50,000 for Arts. We shall keep you update of developments on this issue.
