Federal Polytechnic Bida to Start Degree Programmes
Federal Polytechnic Bida has plans to commence degree programmes in the institution. According to information available, all the relevant agencies of Government has approved the undergraduate Degree programmes.
The Chairman of the Governing Board, Professor Mohammed Yahaya of Federal Polytechnic, Bida Niger State, on a visit to Etsu Nupe in Bida to thank the community for being a great host, announced that arrangements have been concluded to introduce degree programmes in the institution.
The board chairman said all the relevant agencies of government had approved the undergraduate programmes. Professor Yahaya, who described the polytechnic as one of the best in the country, said the new board had resolved to take it to greater heights.
The Federal Polytechnic Bida began in 1977 following the decision of the Federal Government of Nigeria to move to Bida the then Federal College of Technology, Kano. In the same year the first Principal Professor J. W. Brooks, a Canadian, was appointed on the 5th of September 1977.
