EBSU Protest Update : Over N1Million Worth Of Properties Destroyed

We informed you when the students of Ebonyi State University (EBSU), Abakiliki, started their protests in reaction to the increment on their tuition fees. We also advised they should handle the protest with care by making it a peaceful one but this has not been the case.

Information reaching us has it that the protest has been shy of peace and students have destroyed school and individuals’ properties. We have it students have destroyed school equipment estimated at 1 Million Naira including the Student Union Government (SUG) President’s official car.

This should have been a peaceful protest by the students to show their grievances to the school management. We are only thankful that no life is lost and the school has not been shut down like Nasarawa State University.
