Bowen University Extends Remedial Programme 2016
Bowen University has announced its extended Remedial programme 2016, this programme serves as an extra support to students who are finding difficulty in a particular course in the Bowen University. One of the requirements for graduation in the University is that all courses taken by a student must be passed, hence any failed course (generally termed “carry-over”) must be re-taken and passed during subsequent semesters or extended remedial programme.
Bowen University Advice on Extended Remedial Programmes For Failed Courses
Bowen University extended remedial programme 2016 of about 8 week duration provides an opportunity for failed courses/“carry-overs” to be re-taken.
a. Enhancing Chances of Passing Failed Courses
Due to the relatively short period of the Bowen extended remedial programme 2016 compared with a semester, the teaching is intensive. Consequently students are limited to one or more courses carrying a total of not more than 12 credits. This regulation ensures that while students exert concerted effort, they are not over-loaded, thereby enhancing their chances of success.
b. Opportunity for Concentration by Students and Teachers
The smallness of the Bowen University extended remedial programme 2016 classes improves teacher-student interaction. Also fewer students on campus mean, for most students, less distraction from private studies and libraries.
c. Relief from the Burden of Time-Table Clashes.
Most students taking advantage of the conductive learning atmosphere of extended remedial programme pass with good grades in all or most of their courses. In this way they are spared the agony of combining failed courses of lower levels with their normal courses at the higher level in the following sessions.
A student carrying over failed courses into another session will have the agony of the almost inevitable clashes between his “trans-levels” courses on his time-table for lectures and examinations. Therefore, the agony is better avoided by taking and passing failed courses during the next available extended remedial programme.
d. Avoidance of Spending Extra Semester or Years
It often happens that many students still have failed courses at the end of their normal final years. Such students (termed “spill-over”) have to return to the University to spend extra semesters or sessions! But the extra time and expenses could have been avoided by taking and passing those courses during one or more of the Bowen University extended remedial programmes available to the students.
e. Reduced Cost Per Course
It is worth noting that the average cost per course to students during the Bowen University extended remedial programme 2016 is considerably less than during a semester.
f. Overall Positive Effect on Class of Degree at Graduation
As a result of improved average performance by students during the Bowen University extended remedial programme 2106, the elimination of time-table clashes and other problems mentioned above, their overall CGPA’s are correspondingly improved. They can then graduate with better degree classification.
