AAUA Work-Study Scheme: 200 Students Admitted

200 Students of AAUA are to Benefit from Varsity’s Work-Study Scheme. No fewer than 200 students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria, would benefit from the Institution’s Student Work-Study Scheme, SWSS.

The Acting Director of the SWSS, Dr. (Mrs.) Iyabo Omoniyi, made the revelation after the interview exercise for the scheme which took place on Wednesday penultimate week.

SWSS allows willing students to work for two hours daily and receive stipend every month end to support themselves financially while studying in the University.

Dr. (Mrs.) Omoniyi said 235 out of the 300 students who obtained the forms participated in the interview exercise. She said, “Letters of engagement will be issued to no fewer than 200 students very soon.

They are to do light jobs in the University for two hours per day and maximum of 10 hours per week beginning from second Semester and the students would be receiving monthly payment.”

The Ag. Director said the selection process, which is based on merit, would be reviewed every Semester, adding, “Management is so magnanimous to have allowed the 100-level students to take part in the exercise and selection is irrespective of State of Origin of applicants.”

Dr. (Mrs.) Omoniyi commended the University for the initiative and prayed that God would continue to strengthen the Management to sustain it. [Excerpts: AAUA Website]
