LASU Set To Graduate 17,695 Students at 20th Convocation
Lagos State University, LASU is set to graduate 17,695 students at its 20th convocation ceremony. The 17,695 graduates are from 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 academic sets of the University and will be convocated together at the convocation ceremony scheduled to hold on the 25th and 26th of May 2016.
Eight out of about 17,695 graduating students of the Lagos State University (LASU) for the 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 academic sessions are graduating with First Class honours.
The University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, disclosed at a news conference on Thursday 19th May 2016 that 6, 241 graduands would be convocated for the full time programme. The vice-chancellor also said that seven students made first class division , while 1,040 made second class upper and 3,271 made second class lower divisions. He said that 1,575‎ made third class division and 206 would be graduating with a pass degree.
For the External students, 8,784 students are graduating with one First Class and 1,016 Second Class Upper, 6990 Second Class Lower Division, 767 Third Class and 10 Pass.
173 Diploma students would also be graduating with 2,497 Higher Degrees. The Vice-Chancellor stressed that all the graduating students have fulfilled the requirements for the award of the degrees.
The Vice-chancellor stated that the First Class graduands would be offered automatic employment in the University while there would also be consideration for some of the students who made Second Class Upper Division in their various programmes. The Vice-chancellor was very confident of the two graduating sets and said that the graduating students were well baked in character and academics and could compete with their counterparts anywhere in the world.
