University of Lagos, UNILAG Plans Symposium For Chinua Achebe
The Department of English, University of Lagos has concluded plans to organise a symposium in honour of the late literary icon, Prof. Chinua Achebe.
A statement by the Assistant Registrar, Information of UNILAG, Mr. Wale Olasunmade, stated that the symposium scheduled for Thursday was titled “Chinua Achebe: His Works, His Ideas and Contributions to Literature and the Diaspora.’
Speakers at the event include Prof. Akachi Ezeigbo and Dr. Adeyemi Daramola.
Chinua Achebe was a Nigerian novelist, poet, professor, and critic. He was best known for his first novel and magnum opus, Things Fall Apart, which is the most widely read book in modern African literature. Wikipedia
