Okorocha Bans Acceptance Fee At IMSU, Introduces Uniform
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has reportedly abolished admission acceptance fee payment at Imo State University (IMSU) and introduced the use of uniform dress code. The governor has also banned the sales of handouts in the University. No more handout fees.

Governor Okorocha Cancels Acceptance Fee Payment At IMSU, Introduces Uniform
The Executive Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha today announced the cancellation of all extra charges currently paid by students of Imo State University. His excellency made the declaration at the commissioning ceremony of the newly built Owunna Memorial Recreation Park sponsored by Mazi Clement Owunna, the Pro Chancellor of IMSU.
The abolished fees includes acceptance fee,sport fee and even handout fee. The governor who is famous for his extraordinary free education policy which is enjoyed by primary,secondary and tertiary students of Imo state, he reiterated his undiluted commitment to make education totally free for Imo youths. The senior advocate of the masses advised students to buy any relevant textbook needed for learning from the bookshop. He equally charged lecturers to be more committed even as he promised them improved welfare packages.”I am not doing this because of election,I am doing it for posterity sake” – Rochas Okorocha.
In the same vein, amidst applaud and cheers from the lucky students of IMSU, the Governor announced free iPADS for students with Grade Points of 3.5 and above while students with GP of 1.5 and below will be invited for an interview and asked to justify why Government should continue to waste resources on them. Governor Rochas finally charged the students to replicate his gestures by complying with all the school’s regulation.
He further expressed his desire for the students to have a uniform dress code according to their department and faculty. He advised the Dean and HODs to meet with the students’ leaders and reach a consensus on the dress code to be used by students going forward. “I believe in excellence and that is why my dream for Imo State is big” – Governor Rochas Okorocha
