Tuition Free Universities in Finland for International Students
Tuition is free for all Students (domestic,international and exchange students) enrolled in Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral level programmes in Finland. This is due to the fact that University/Higher education in Finland is funded by the State through the Ministry of Education, and therefore students enrolled in regular degree studies pay no tuition fees.
According to ‘www.studyinfinland.fi’ which is an authoritative source about study in Finland: there is no tuition fees charged in Finnish higher education degrees starting in autumn 2014, regardless of the level of studies and the nationality of the student.
The student union charges a membership fee of about 53 euros/term. Membership is compulsory for those studying for their Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees; those pursuing their doctoral studies may join the student union if they wish.
Aside the free tuition, a part you will have to play by yourself as an international student is the aspect of covering your everyday living expenses, travel, insurance, housing, feeding, books. etc.
