Yobe State University, YSU Gets N200 Million Library Donation
President of the Federal republic of Nigeria, President Goodluck Jonathan made the promise while commissioning the varsity’s library that was named after him. He said “since the library was named after Mr president, we will make sure that TETFund gives you N200 million to complete the project,”
He praised the state government for the priority attention given to the institution since inception saying it will go a long way in improving the standard and quality of education in the state and by extension the country as a whole.
President Jonathan further stated that the federal government had assisted a lot towards the development of the school through the Education Trust Fund (ETF) intervention which has contributed in the building of the library, lecture halls, departmental expansions.
The President was also at the Desert Research Monitoring and Control Centre of the institution established to conduct research and proffer solutions to the encroaching desert in the state and by extension the northern part of the country as a whole.
Experts from Egypt and India have been drafted to the centre with a view to setting it up to serve the purpose for which it was established.
He also commissioned the Damaturu Inner Ring Road constructed by the Ibrahim Gaidam administration to decongest traffic in Damaturu metropolis.
