8 Students Charged To Court For Cultism
Police has taken 8 Students to Court over Cultism. An Ilorin Chief Magistrate’s Court yesterday arraigned eight students over cultism.
The prosecutor, Cpl, Akanbi, informed the court that on Jan. 15, one of the suspects, Olumo Olatunbosun Aliyu, was arrested at Catadel Hotel, along Unilorin Road, Kwara State, by operatives of the Department of State Security Services.
He added that Olatunbosun Aliyu has been on the watch-list of the operatives for allegedly engaging in cult activities within and outside the campus.
He was also accused of causing the death of one Micheal Adegboye at Tanke Ilorin on December 20.
“Olumo Olatunbosun Aliyu confessed to being a member of “Black Axe” a prohibited society and provided useful information which led to the arrest of Collins Oluwatobi (A.K.A Slimzy), Abubakar Usman (A.K.A Sebe/Cobra), Abdulrasheed Onifade (A.K.A Cypher), Opeyemi Olasunkanmi, Onazi Emmanuel, Ndokuro Lucky and Adebayo Akinlabi”.
The accused persons confessed and pleaded guilty to the crime and Magistrate Ibrahim Dazuki ordered that they should be remanded at Okekura Prison, Ilorin and adjourned the case till May 28, 2014. Source: DailyTrust Newspaper
