2015 Engineering for Development (E4D) Doctoral Scholarships in Switzerland
Applications are on-going for the 2015 Engineering for Development (E4D) Doctoral Scholarships in Switzerland. The E4D doctoral scholarship programme aims at promoting the development of products or methods, which are directly relevant for improving the livelihoods of poor people in developing countries. It awards two doctoral fellowships per year with an amount of 175’000 CHF each. The scholarships are funded by the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development.
Scholarship Value
The scholarship to be awarded is a valued equivalent to an amount of 175’000 CHF each. These doctoral scholarships are offered for three years.
Eligibility:
- –The entrance requirements for doctoral studies at ETH Zurich have to be fulfilled.
–The research topic is innovative and relevant for development.
– The expected impact for the intended target group is high.
–The project is conducted with (a) partner(s) in a developing country.
Eligible Countries
Scholarship Open for International Students: Students from any country who meet the entrance requirements for doctoral studies at ETH Zurich are eligible to apply for these doctoral scholarships.
Application Procedure and Deadline
The candidate has to submit a concept note, a CV, certificates and transcripts and a letter of support by the supervising ETH professor via e-mail. Â The application deadline is 31 March 2015.
