2015-2016 Vice-Chancellor PhD Scholarships for UK/EU and International Students in UK
Applications are ongoing for the 2015-2016 Vice-Chancellor PhD Scholarships for UK/EU and International Students in UK. Scholarships provide a fee waiver only (living costs are met by the Candidate) and will be allocated by the Faculty to outstanding applicants.
The scholarships are open to both UK/EU and International students who wish to study full-time (36 months) and in exception, part-time (48 months) and are designed to appeal specifically to those with industry, business or government sponsorship. In addition, research costs, including field work and conference attendance, will be met.
Scholarship Value

Scholarships will be awarded on a full-time basis for a period of 36 months or a part-time basis for a period of 48 months.
Selection Criteria: BU will look closely at the qualities, skills and background of each candidate and what they can bring to their chosen research project in order to ensure successful and timely completion.
Eligibility
- • Candidates for the Vice-Chancellor PhD Scholarship must demonstrate outstanding qualities and be motivated to complete a PhD in 3 years (4 years part-time).
• All candidates must satisfy the University’s minimum doctoral entry criteria for studentships of an honours degree at Upper Second Class (2.1) and/or an appropriate Masters degree. An IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 minimum (or equivalent) is essential for candidates for whom English is not their first language.
• In addition to satisfying basic entry criteria, BU will look closely at the qualities, skills and background of each candidate and what they can bring to their chosen research project in order to ensure successful and timely completion.

Please complete the BU Research Degree Application form and submit to the Postgraduate Research Administrator for Admissions, Suzy Kempinski, via email to pgradmissions-at-bournemouth.ac.uk.
Please note incomplete applications will not be considered so please make sure you complete the form in full. CVs, transcripts or an academic portfolio etc will not be considered unless accompanied by a completed Research Degree Application Form. The application deadline is 31 May 2015.
