17 Plateau State University Courses Accredited By NUC
Plateau State University (PLASU) has had 17 of its courses by the National Universities Commission (NUC). According to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Doknan Sheni, 17 academic programmes were given full accreditation.
While speaking to NAN, the Vice Chancellor of the University said they needed the accreditation in order as a full-fledge University. This, they have not been able to do for over 10 years of existence of PLASU.
In his words, “for more than 10 years, we have been operating as if we are not a university; without one of our courses accredited. “But thanks be to God, today all our 17 programmes in the four faculties have been accredited by the NUC,’’ He said.
Impact of Newly Accredited 17 PLASU Courses
The vice-chancellor said that with the accreditation of these 17 courses, the university would admit more than 1,000 students in the 2016/2017 academic year. Sheni also said the university had been admitting between 300 and 400 students but with the accreditation, it would be admitting between 1,000 and 3,000 applicants.
We congratulate all students and management of Plateau State University on the accreditation success.
